Toshio Iwamoto

Toshio Iwamoto is President and Chief Executive Officer of NTT DATA Corporation, a global IT services company that generated more than 1.7 trillion yen in net sales with over 110 billion yen of operating income in FY03/17.

 

Mr. Iwamoto was appointed to his current post in June 2012, prior to which he served as Senior Executive Vice President and Company President, Public & Financial IT Services Company from 2009, Executive Vice President and Head of the Financial Business Sector from 2007 and Senior Vice President and Head of the Financial Business Sector from 2005.

 

As a systems engineer and later, a project manager, Mr. Iwamoto himself has overseen projects for the central government, the Bank of Japan, the Tokyo Stock Exchange and many more, contributing significantly to the development of Japan’s information technology scene.

 

Mr. Iwamoto is the author of “IT Kofuku-ron” (The Never-ending Progress; how information technology can help make the world a better place), published in 2013.

He graduated from Tokyo University’s School of Engineering and started his career in April 1976 at Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation, currently NTT Corporation, the parent company of NTT DATA.
